Paul Forlenza is a Principal at CenterBoard Consulting, LLC.  He founded Centerboard to help organizations maximize their investments in health information technology to advance health care reform.  Paul provides program and project management, policy development, strategic and business planning and grant management consulting services. 

Paul has over thirty years of experience working with large corporations, non-profits, and state and federal governments.  For fifteen years, he worked for IBM Government Programs in Washington, DC on Information Technology public policy issues.  He advised the National Institutes of Health on the use of supercomputing to solve computational chemistry research problems and the use of the scanning tunneling microscope to understand the structure and properties of DNA.

Since 2005, he has been working on health care reform initiatives.  He has experience with health care policy, health care funding and implementation of health information technology projects.

Recent Consulting Engagements

  • Paul collaborated with Dr. David Cochran, to write a unified strategic business plan for the Arizona Health-e Connection (AzHeC) and the Health Information Network of Arizona (HINAz).  The plan provided business planning steps to more closely align and coordinate stakeholder commitment, operational abilities and resources to advance HIT and HIE projects in the state.
  • Paul developed the Strategic Health Information Technology Plan for the Screening, Brief Interview and Referral for Treatment (SBIRT) Project at the Vermont Department of Health.  The plan provided a roadmap for using HIT to support the SBIRT grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).......... learn more about Paul
